What is your LANG environment variable set to? The new support for 
internationalisation and UTF-8 character sets can cause problems (see posting 
by Phil Clayton on 30/3/2004). Phil's solution is a bit anglo-centric, I 
suspect you'll probably want LANG=en_US or LANG=C.

By the way, long attachments (>40Kb) mean I have to approve postings - so gzip 
is recommended for them.
